What Brazil sold to and bought from Mexico in January–August 2026: exports, imports, trade balance and the most traded HS4 chapters.

Brazil ran a US$ 503.4 million trade surplus with Mexico in January–July 2026, exporting US$ 4.86 billion against US$ 4.36 billion in imports. It is one of the most balanced relationships in Brazilian foreign trade, with the two flows just over 11% apart.

Trade is dominated by the automotive and machinery complex in both directions, and Brazilian exports add animal protein: soybeans, poultry meat and frozen beef all rank among the five largest lines. On the import side, data-processing machines lead. Browse the SH4 chapters below to drill into a specific commodity.

In trade with Mexico, Brazil closed January–August 2026 with a surplus of US$ 611.31M.

Frequently asked questions

How large is the Brazil–Mexico trade balance in January–July 2026?

Brazil holds a US$ 503.4 million surplus: US$ 4.86 billion exported against US$ 4.36 billion imported. The gap equals roughly 5% of total bilateral trade, making this one of Brazil's most symmetric relationships in the period.

What does Brazil export most to Mexico?

Soybeans lead at US$ 680.9 million, followed by poultry meat (US$ 347.2 million), goods vehicles (US$ 304.5 million) and motor cars (US$ 290.4 million). The basket mixes agriculture and automotive, with no single line above 15% of total exports.

Automatic data-processing machines lead at US$ 770.3 million, followed by motor cars (US$ 594.8 million) and vehicle parts (US$ 515.2 million). The combined automotive block — cars, parts and goods vehicles — reaches US$ 1.34 billion, nearly a third of imports.

Why do vehicles appear on both sides?

This is intra-industry trade between two assembly bases: Brazil sold US$ 290.4 million in motor cars and bought US$ 594.8 million of the same chapter; in goods vehicles it sold US$ 304.5 million and bought US$ 227.3 million. Each country concentrates different models and sizes within one chain.
